- Toys of low quality or durability: The European toy sector is facing a deluge of low quality imports which are not designed for longevity.
- Children lose interest quickly: As children move through their developmental journey, their interests change rapidly and most toys are unable to hold their interest over longer periods of time.
- Bad gifts and duplicates: As birthdays approach, parents brace for the onslaught of gifts, large portions of which are discarded either because they are inappropriate for the child's age or interests or are just duplicates.
