We spoke to a large number of parents who highlighted three key problems when it comes to the purchase and use of toys.
- Affordability: High quality toys are not always affordable and buying used toys on used product marketplaces is time consuming and you have to take a leap of faith on the condition of toys.
- Discovery: There are too many options out there and it is not easy to identify the ideal toys for one's children appropriate for their age.
- Clutter: Once bought, toys become clutter very soon. It is a pity to throw away good toys but it is a painful process to sell or donate them as well.
At Playmor, our vision is to create a circular model for toys which addresses these problems.
We aim to solve the problem of affordability by responsibly procuring high quality toys either from parents directly or unsold inventory from the supply chain and offering these at discounted prices to our customers. In this process, we perform quality checks and cleaning of the products so that the condition of the product is accurately communicated to the buyer.
We aim to solve the problem of discovery by grouping our catalog into age-based, category-based and brand-based collections. We will also shortly offer age-based 'essentials' bundles so that parents can easily find and purchase the toys needed for their child's developmental needs.
We aim to solve the problem of clutter by providing a service through which parents can get their branded toys valued and subsequently sell them to us in one shot. No more haggling on prices with other parents on marktplaats or vinted!
The people driving innovation in this sector are the toy brands. There are 5000+ toy brands in Europe designing and creating high quality toys. Our vision is to partner with these brands and offer a truly circular solution for their products, where the brands are also involved in each resale of their product.
